Design Thinking.
The Design Thinking case of my team members and I was to create a measurement system for the outside of the door C in the main building in the Forssa campus of our university (HAMK University of Applied Sciences ). Better control of the energy consumption and creation of optimal conditions for the users of the door C and stairwell area. Those were the main reasons why a better system was needed.
The project owner in the Design Thinking case wanted a device that measured the temperature, air humidity and carbon dioxide. Our prototype solution included sensors for all these variables. We would need to add sensors to measure the carbon dioxide etc. in the area at any given time to this project example.
A mobile application is used as the remote control for the system in our prototype. We would need to create a mobile application to read the information from the ThingSpeak channel. Systems screen in the area was part of our prototype where it is possible to access the system as well as display the current data values. We would need to add that systems screen to this project example.

What I learned:
Tinkercad, Arduino environment, and ThingSpeak, these are all tools that we have learned to use through this course. While doing this implementation, we could make into practice what we have learned starting from the C language basics which we have practiced in Tinkercad. We also used the Arduino environment with the help of our Arduino boards and microcontrollers. We had a better understanding of IoT systems and learned how to operate ThingSpeak as an IoT analytics platform.
Networking Event
Studying online at a university remains unusual and hard for students, especially with the corona pandemic and that my university has different campuses located in different cities in Finland.
Therefore, other colleagues from different degree programs at HAMK University of Applied Sciences and I have had the idea to create an online networking event "Together Towards Tomorrow" which aims to gather students from different study programs together. Another important goal of our networking event is to help the student take a step forward into a professional life perspective by inviting employers to meet students and share their experience with them in accordance with our university.
This event will be held online where each group of student will present a school project related to their degree program so that students will know more about other fields. In addition, they will have to get professional guidance and advice from experienced employers.
As an Event & Hospitality coordinator of the event , I am responsible for managing the event and coordinating necessary activities with HAMK and team leads.
This event project is in the process now and will be held in April as the first of its kind at my university.
